Methodology Spot: November 2024

Test your knowledge with our methodology quick quiz. This month's focus is Men's Mental Health

Tom’s wife passed away six months ago, and while he still appears sad, there are no reports of him crying. During the interRAI assessment, he declined to answer the self-reported mood questions, stating that he is coping fine and does not wish to discuss his feelings. Although known as a stoic person, Tom’s behaviour has changed noticeably.

His daughter shared that he spends more time alone and has stopped attending the MenShed, an activity he used to enjoy weekly with good friends. Now, the only activity he still participates in is visiting his daughter’s house on Sundays for lunch with her family. She also mentioned that he has lost weight and admitted to her a few weeks ago that he no longer finds joy in life the way he used to.

How would you code the following items in the assessment (HC or LTCF)?
